White Air T15 UKSA Youth Week 2007
This summer a lucky 22 children from T15 clubs around the country have the opportunity to take part in the first ever T15 UKSA Youth Week on the Isle of Wight.
The T15 UKSA Youth Week is a residential training camp, which takes place from 19-24 August 2007 and is run in association with the UKSA and Isle of Wight Economic Partnership. The Youth Week precedes the WhiteAir Extreme Sports Festival which attracts top names in the sport of windsurfing, some of whom may visit the camp.
RYA coaches and instructors will lead the action-packed week with the aim of improving the general windsurfing, racing and freestyle skills of the 11 boys and 11 girls in attendance. With evening entertainment and competitions throughout the week, participants won't want the week to end!
Places are limited. Participants must be a member of a team15 club and be aged under 16. Any T15 sailor interested in attending this exclusive camp should register online, which will open very soon for a limited period. If you have participated in T15 inter-club challenges this is ideal, though not essential.
To ensure a good spread of T15 sailors from around the country, from completed online entries, one boy and one girl will be selected at random from each of the ten T15 zones meaning that 20 children will represent T15 clubs from across the UK. A further two places will be made available to a boy and a girl living on the Isle of Wight and who attend the UKSA T15 club. If no male or no female entries are submitted in any one zone, these places will be used as wild cards from all entries of that gender.
The cost of this residential week is £159; this includes all coaching, accommodation at UKSA, food, evening entertainment and travel to/from the Isle of Wight by ferry from Southampton/Portsmouth area (venue to be confirmed).
Participants should bring their own equipment (to include a board with a daggerboard or central fin, rig, wetsuit, buoyancy aid - and T15 race vest, if available). If sailors don't yet have their own equipment then a limited amount is available from the UKSA; please indicate this on the online booking form. Mini-buses and trailers will transport participants and equipment to the UKSA at Cowes from Southampton / Portsmouth area (return) by ferry. Travel from all UK locations to Southampton / Portsmouth meeting point is the responsibility of individuals and is not included in the event cost.
Let everyone know about the event so that they can be in with a chance of attending. Remember, wild cards may be available but only 22 children can attend this exclusive week. Will you be one of them?
If you have the time that week and your parents / guardians / you can manage the cost, then make sure you register online. Registration is now open.
